I finally watched this infamous 70s horror flick. It lived up to all the hype being both insanely graphic and intense, and actually making you think. It depicts the making of a snuff film because porn just isn’t selling anymore. Audiences needed something more, something real and the only place left to go is depicting real violence. The last half is more depraved and sleazy than I could have ever imagined. I kept wiping my face for grease and dirt the entire time. I always hear that cheesy line about horror movies making you want to take a shower afterward, well, this is the only one I could genuinely believe. Look up the background to this movie, too. That’s as entertaining and crazy as the film itself. This definitely needs some time to sink in more and a re-watch with commentary is a must.
